Community-based Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) Residencies at Meijer

Statement of Purpose:

To build upon the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to develop community-based pharmacist practitioners with diverse patient care, leadership, and education skills who are eligible to pursue advanced training opportunities including postgraduate year two (PGY2) residencies and professional certifications.


Program Description:

Meijer currently has two community-based PGY1 programs.  Each program focuses on intense training in community pharmacy-based clinical services.  Through partnership with Michigan-based ACPE-accredited colleges of pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry - both programs offer advanced training in teaching and research - designed to develop well-rounded clinical pharmacists who practice at the top of their license in a variety of environments.

All applicants must be highly motivated Pharm.D. candidates or graduates with recognized strengths in communication and self-direction.


Both programs require a letter of intent, current curriculum vitae, academic transcripts and three letters of recommendation and must be submitted through the PhORCAS system by January 15, 2018.
